Fishing with a Friend

For this student illustration project, the assignment was to be randomly assigned to another student and take his or her chosen object (a reflection of their interests or personality) and their favorite hobby.

My partner was a student who brought in small a teddy bear sculpture and told me he enjoyed the outdoors, such as fishing. I decided to merge the idea of the fishing and the bear as a way of representing his outgoing and social personality. Mirroring the teddy bear's typical childish look, I gave the overall design a brightly colored and flattened appeal similar to a children's book.
